The Fair of Contemporary Art in Verona, ArtVerona (6th-10th 2011) has invited Limno to participate in Independents 2, an area reserved to independent creative experiences. In the frame of Indipendents Limno has developed two actions:

1.

An investigation on the idea and perception of landscape. Limno asks a group of authors and professionals to answer three questions. By starting from these first responses, visitors can develop their own reflection and enrich both analysis and space. Scientific accuracy, artistic experience and common knowledge melt , creating hypothesis and the most various interpretations. The outcome is a map of feeling, seeing and living landscape.

2.

An exploration on foot of the surroundings, more specifically an ideal path from the Fair to the river. After picking some places according to their floristic and landscape value, a few pics were taken and then printed on tracing paper, in order to let visitors put them on top of reality so as to filter it. Every tracing paper sheet goes with an illustrated handout, which presents a selections of plants available in that spot. There are alien plants – that is to say they come from America, Australia, Asia, Africa – that become acclimatized and reproduce freely in this area; there are native plants as well, which find themselves competing, even culturally, with the newcomers.

From the contact between these two histories and natures, a new landscape comes out and it is already old and perceived as THE landscape in itself. Of all this, a datum, a memory support is hereby provided.
